Abstract
This article presents the research that has been carried out on the management function of subsidised schools and how the public financing they receive influences their structure.
Public funds that support private subsidised schools include, among other aspects, the financing of the management function. In this research, an analysis is carried out on the educational and budgetary regulations related to the management of these schools, including the appointment and dismissal procedures of directors, the differences with the procedures applied in public schools, and the different management structures that can be found. The study of public financing of the management function in five Autonomous Communities will allow us to draw conclusions about the different situations we may encounter.
The figure of the academic secretary, clearly defined in public schools as part of the management team, is not contemplated in the specific regulations of subsidised schools. This is an issue that we will review carefully due to its relevance concerning the signing of official evaluation documents.
The management structures of subsidised schools and their form of financing must be known by the Educational Inspection to carry out adequate supervision and thus ensure that free, quality education is provided, adjusted to official curricula and current regulations.
