Abstract
This practical case describes the intervention of the Education Inspectorate following a request for guidance from the headteacher of a primary school experiencing difficulties in providing an appropriate educational response to a pupil displaying challenging behaviours and episodes of aggression towards peers.
The intervention involves analysing information provided by the school, guiding the systematic recording of behaviour, reviewing the resulting records and providing feedback to the teaching team, together with regular guidance and follow-up meetings. These actions help identify possible factors influencing the observed behaviours and support the adoption of preventive and proactive educational measures.
The process helps transform teaching team meetings into opportunities for analysis, coordination and shared decision-making. The case illustrates how guidance from the Education Inspectorate can contribute to improving educational responses and progressively strengthening the school's autonomy in addressing similar situations.
