Abstract
Today’s social demands, in terms of what an individual should know how to do once he has concluded his way in the educational system, have nothing to do with what society
required 50 years ago. However, the curricular format applied in the educational centers, understood in a broad sense and covering all its elements, goes back in many aspects beyond five decades. It is imperative to modify instructional structures, which are making it difficult to achieve competent learning and personalization of the teaching and learning process, to which Spanish educational regulations and international agreements so insistently refer. In this sense, among the curricular elements which we referred to, we will deal more closely with those related to the didactic methodology, emphasizing the concept, application and benefits of what is currently called “active methodologies”.
